This is a Shelley Sandwich/Cake Plate with a back stamp covering the period from 1925 to 1945. The pattern is called Archway of Roses and incorporates distinctive Art Deco style handles.
This example has retained its colour and glossy finish, and retains the gilding around the edge.
Shelley first introduced the design in 1928, but this plate most likely dates from the late 1930s.
It measures approx. 250mm (handle to handle) x 210mm.
