This is a Chinese Jingdezhen ceramic Famille Jaune (Yellow) Longevity Ginger Jar, hand painted and lidded. It's vintage and around 40 years old.
There are four symbol lozenges on the body of the jar and one on the lid. There is a repeated floral and geometric design on a yellow background, with a repeated design on a green background around the neck and foot.
The Ginger Jar dates back to the Ming Dynasty (14th–17th century), they were primarily utilitarian, used for storing ginger, oil, salt, and other goods.
Today, they are mainly decorative, used as vases, centerpieces, or even as storage containers in modern interiors.
