This is a bobbin leg Gypsy table, which has been recovered in red velour.
The table is supported by three bobbin-turned legs, which are a signature feature.
Bobbin turning involves shaping the wood into a series of rounded, spool-like forms, resembling beads or spools of thread.
This decorative technique was popular in 17th- and 19th-century furniture and adds a sculptural, textured look to the legs.
It probably dates from the early 20th century.
The legs are detachable.
