This is an antique 24 page hard-cover album containg examples of early 20th century cigarette cards. In all, there are 94 cards, including silk examples.
All original and highly collectable the cards are mounted in a bespoke album. The album has the cover title 'Photographs' and bears a landsscape and windmill gilded image.
The cards include Park Drive Champions of Screen and Stage, John Player & Sons' Militaria of the Empire examples, as well as Gilbert and Sullivan. Gallaher's Birds of the World and Wills's Do You Know fact cards also feature along with many others.
Cigarette cards originated in the US around 1875 and quickly spread to the UK. Silk examples ended with the second world war and the the need to redirect the use of materials.

Good general condition. There are a few empty spaces in the album, which is intact and bound. There are some minor signs of age related wear. The cover is faded.
